Hillsboro, Dec 11 - James Furr, a prominent farmer residing at New Liberty neighborhood, SW of here, died at his home Tuesday about 11 o'clock from a complication of diseases from which he had been suffering 3 weeks. Mr. Furr was 68 years of age and born and spent his entire life on the farm where he died. He conducted a tile factory for a number of years and has a wide acquaintance over the county. He was a member of the New Liberty Church. He was united in marriage to Miss Lou Drollinger of Illinois and to this union 9 children were born: two of whom survived (sic) their father in death. Besides his widow, he leaves four daughters: Mrs. Alvin Palmore of Indiana Harbor; Mrs. Freeman Ratcliff of Mission, Texas; Mrs. Merble Wood of Newtown and Clellia Day of Tangier and three sons: Rowe and Paul Furr residing on farms near HIllsboro and Earl Furr who is in military service and stationed at Camp Custer, Mich. The deceased is also survived by three brothers: Marsh Furr of Kingman; Frank Furr of near here and Johnson Furr of Danville and two sisters: Mrs. Rill Parker of Danville and Mrs. Mack Carter of Kansas and 20 grandchildren. Arrangements will not be made for the funeral service until word is received from the daughter residing in Texas. -- kbz
